The Spark That Ignited Davenport Photographs
Hello all! My name is Cheyenne Davenport, and I am the owner and sole photographer of Davenport Photographs!
I first found my passion for photography when I was 9 years old and only had my iPod 4 and CamWow filters. It first started with taking pictures of random landscapes: cornfields, creeks, trees, and the sky. Then I began nominating my sister to be my model. I would have her do candid and aesthetic poses, and my creativity with the skill of photography flourished.
At 10 years old, I received my first digital camera as a Christmas gift. Oh man, I was so excited! I remember pulling it out of the box right on Christmas day and taking every opportunity I could to capture everything. I kept practicing with my digital camera, looking up how to edit and use different camera settings on YouTube. I started posting my work, and people started to notice me.
Around the age of 18 years old, I started to capture events and moments for close friends and family members. Weddings, family get togethers, and so on. This was my debut. This is what made me decided I wanted to make my passion a business.
In 2020, I launched Davenport Photographs. I had no idea what I was doing as a new business owner, but I learned from others and kept an open mind. For a few years, I only had a few clients here and there, nothing steady. But now, in 2026, my clientele has developed so much and I have been given the opportunity to pursue my passion on a regular basis.
And here I am! Owning a business and pursuing something that is true to me! I could not be anymore grateful for the opportunities I have been given and the people that support me. Without those people, I would not have Davenport Photographs!
The Family Behind Davenport Photographs
I, Cheyenne Davenport, am a St. Bonaventure University graduate with a degree in psychology. Outside of Davenport Photographs, I hold a full-time career. I am a social worker that loves to serve those who are in need. My personal goal for every day is to try my best to make at least one other person's life a little easier, and I have been given the ability to fulfill that goal through my hard work and dedication.
My family consists of two pups, two kitties, and two fish. My first pup was Maylee. Maylee is a shih tzu and she is the most bubbly and loving pup you could ever find. She came to me when I was going through a really difficult time in my life, and she made everything so much brighter for me. She was the one who allowed me to find my passion in animals as well. Ever since she came into my life, it has been her and I against the world. My second pup is Fala. Fun fact: Fala means 'crow' in Native American. In the Native American culture, crows symbolize transformation and intelligence, as well as serving as messengers. My family is of strong Native American descent, so giving this name to Fala was far more than just a name. Fala is the baby of the family, literally and metaphorically. She is the youngest of all of them. She may look big, but the biggest thing about her is her heart. She is the most loving and patient girl. She came to me after my first labrador passed, and she brought with her the same light and love that my first labrador brought.
Next up are my two kitties: Potato and Gravy. I brought both Potato and Gravy in as rescues. Potato came to me in the backyard of my aunt's house as we were celebrating the 4th of July. She was skinny and stuffy from an upper respiratory infection. I knew that day I had to take her home, and I did. Since then, she has been all fixed up and is the most loveable and outgoing kitty! Gravy was a barn kitten that was left behind by her mom. A woman asked if I would like to take her in, and I could not resist. So, now she has grown to be feisty, but so sweet.
Finally, my fishies. Both of my fishies were given to me by family members. One is a goldfish named Egg and the other is a pleco fish named Garth. They are both such a sight to see and watch swim around!
Altogether, we are one big, happy family, and I would not trade what I have for the world!
